Where's the skatepark?

Who else out there is wondering what ever happened to the skate park that was supposed to be up and running by the summer of 2009? That time has come and gone and still no park. And, several thousand dollar$ were raised by the community for this - does anyone know where that money is??

January 14 Meeting Highlights

We're moving along with the creation of a skate park in Glen Cove. The following topics were discussed at our meeting:

• Possible fundraising ideas included a skateboarding movie night at Glen Cove Cinema, Valentine's Day dinner at participating restaurants, and a golf tournament at a local course. If you have any fundraising ideas of your own, please comment/email.
• The park needs a name and a logo. If you have any ideas to submit, please send to sk8glencove@gmail.com - images should be saved as either gif, jpg, or png format. Hand drawn images can be scanned and submitted as well.
• We are in the process of creating several social networking sites pertaining to the creation of this park. Stay tuned for email blasts with MySpace, Facebook, and YouTube updates.

This is general meeting - we will bring everyone up to date; organize next community fundraiser and divide into working committees.

Dance Mania Update

We raised close to $7,500 in both cash contributions and in-kind donations and sponsorships. There is just under $5000 in the account. See photos above and click to enlarge.
